Based on the official notice from the National Immigration Administration of China, citizens from the following countries holding ordinary passports for purposes such as business, tourism, visiting relatives, exchanges, or transit are eligible for visa-free entry to China for a stay not exceeding 30 days.

The 30-day stay duration is calculated from 00:00 on the day following the entry date.

Eligible Countries by Region:

Europe (35 countries): France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Sweden, United Kingdom.

Oceania (2 countries): Australia, New Zealand.

Asia (7 countries): Brunei, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain.

Americas (6 countries): Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Canada.

Key Conditions:

Passport: Must be an ordinary passport. Diplomatic, service, or other special passports may have different regulations.

Purpose & Duration: Travel must be for eligible activities (business, tourism, etc.) and the stay must not exceed 30 days.

II. Visa Policy for Other Countries(Updated as of Feb 17, 2026)

Citizens of countries not listed above generally need to obtain an appropriate visa before traveling to China.

Common Visa Types:

Tourist Visa (L-Visa): For tourism and visiting family or friends.

Business Visa (M-Visa): For commercial and trade activities, meetings, etc.

Work Visa (Z-Visa): For individuals taking up employment in China. Requires a work permit.

Student Visa (X-Visa): For long-term study programs in China. Requires an admission notice from a recognized institution.

Family Reunion Visa (Q-Visa/S-Visa): For visiting Chinese family members or relatives residing in China.

Application Process:

Determine the correct visa type based on your travel purpose.

Prepare the required documents, which typically include:

A passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity and blank visa pages.

A completed visa application form.

A recent passport-style photo.

Proof of legal residence (if applying outside your home country).

Supporting documents specific to the visa type (e.g., flight itinerary, hotel bookings, invitation letter, employment license, admission notice).

Submit your application, often in person, at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) or the Chinese Embassy / Consulate in your country of residence. Appointments are usually required.

Pay the applicable fee and collect your passport once processed.
